#222 – our booth number at PV America. An even-number lovers dream. It’s hard to wrap my brain around the fact that it’s already been over a week since the start of the show. How did that happen? Addie, one of our EcoFasten Solar® gurus and I got back to the office at 9:00 Wednesday night, following 3 days at the Boston Convention Center. Thank you to all who stopped by!
To be honest, we didn’t expect much in the way of booth traffic the first night – After all, the show was only open from 5:00pm – 7:00pm. Almost immediately though, we started seeing visitors. We heard lots of great testimonials regarding our products. People are extremely pleased, not only with the quality, but also with the fact that they work so well, and they do what we say they’ll do. All great things to hear!
Day two opened at 10:00am. Almost the moment the doors opened we saw an influx of visitors. Thankfully this was the day our President, Brian Stearns, decided to fly in (yes, he’s a pilot too), along with 3 members of our Engineering crew. We found our booth jam-packed, each of us deep in conversation; the buzz absolutely hypnotizing. You all know that trade show phenomena – one moment you’re standing there, and the next you’re spinning in a whirlwind of excitement. That buzz lasted the entire day. Before we knew it, the overhead lights started to dim, and as I looked at my phone, I announced to Addie, “it’s 6:00”. Both of us were stunned….how did 8 hours pass by so quickly? No complaints, but wow, the day flew by.
Wednesday, the last day of the show, was a bit different. While the traffic had definitely dissipated, as we thought it would judging by how many “ONE DAY” passes we saw the day before, in some ways we found it to be a nice change – now we had more time to talk with our visitors, learn more about them, their companies, what they’re looking for, and hear their valuable feedback. We spoke with installers, contractors, manufacturers, distributors, engineers, builders, media agencies and architects, among others. With just about 100 exhibitor booths, the show had a cozy, almost intimate feel.
We launched our newest watertight solar roof mount solution, CorruSlide at the show, and the interest was extremely evident. CorruSlide was designed specifically for use on corrugated metal roofing, and will work with any profile. The universal bracket works as a hinge, so it expands to meet any rib spacing, and adjusts horizontally to accommodate North-South adjustments. It also has a super strong pullout value (722 lbs. to be exact), and 5 fastener points.(Photo credit: Steven Bushong, Solar Power World)
We started packing up at the close of the show on Wednesday afternoon, everything loaded into the back of our rental and we were into the tunnel by 5:00 (and neck-deep into the traffic that never seemed to end, followed by downpours and near-hydroplaning scares pretty much all the way home). On the whole, we left with the feeling that PV America, while small in size, was HUGE in interaction, networking and educational value. We are already looking forward to PV America 2015.
Committed to the connection
